Mess Monster part IV & V

So like usual I left the room for a couple of minutes and it got too quiet and next thing I know this happens... A full bottle of baby powder!

Turns into a choo choo train game in the kitchen.
Now we have an empty bottle of baby powder and need I say more.
And of course here is one of the guilty parties involved.
But my fun wasn't over for the day. They decided to see how many Q-tips we had left in the box.
As you can see it was almost full.

Guilty party number 2.

Mess Monster part III

So I should have learned right? But when your kids like red sauce pasta it's so hard not to give it to them. I started to have them get down to diapers and underwear to eat it. Lily made the biggest mess. McKenna had a couple of spots on her belly but that's it. Sorry she won't appear in this post because I didn't think her in her underwear would be appropriate. I think my favorite part is that the red sauce looks like a beard on her face.

So this was my only solution to keeping the mess in the kitchen. And Lily thought it was pretty fun too.

Pumpkin Patch

Some friends, the girls and I took a ferry ride over to Surry to College Run Farms where we went to their pumpkin patch. It was a lot of fun. Anna has her choice pumpkin and McKenna and Kate decided that they wanted to help her.
Lily found hers too! Well, she tried to pick up every pumpkin she saw. Usually the ones that where the same size as her.

So McKenna got mad at me for making her act like she was picking this pumpkin up so I could take her picture. As you can tell from the look on her face!

Another one that Lily decided she wanted to take home. But Elizabeth and Atticus had first dibs on this one.

Kate found hers. She told her mom that it was for baby brother (who hasn't been born yet, but soon!). Then when I asked her who it was for she said, "ME".

Well, now I guess nobody gets it! I laughed because it looks like she is crying in this picture, but she didn't cry about it at all, all the kids decided that it would be better with dirt in it. Atticus and Lily playing. Okay so it was really Lily poking Atticus, but he's smiling and it makes for a cute picture.

Here's the real look from her picking on him. Lily the stinker strikes again.

Is it really October!

So this looks like some remote island or paradise, right? We really wish it was but we'll settle for the James River. The girls and I had so much fun on the little beach, we even collected some shells to show daddy.James River/Beach
Lily and McKenna trying to build a sandcastle in the water. As you can see it's not working. Maybe next time they'll listen to mom.

Wow, that's cold mom!
Rocks, mom you didn't tell me rocks were so much fun.

Cooking with Dad?

So it was cookie time again. Wow we must make a lot of sweets or something. McKenna really wanted to help so everyone got their aprons on and away they went. Here dad you stir it's too hard.
No, wait it's my turn to stir.

Oh, yum. Peanut butter chips and chocolate chips.

Lily really wanted to help. She wouldn't stay off the ladder step.
Now for a taste! Yummy!

Go Tribe!

Matt took McKenna to a William and Mary football game today with some friends. They had fun, they made it all the way to half time. Which is good for McKenna's first game. Go Tribe! Oh and Mommy stayed home and quilted while Lily took a nap, oh what a day!

What is that?

So I like reading another blog with some friends (you know who you are) and she always plays a fun game of name that photo. Well, I thought I'd have some fun like that and see what you all thought. So here you go. I want you to guess what/or who this is and what is going on. Have fun with it. I'll post the real picture in a couple of days. So after thinking about it, I figured that the first picture might be too hard and nothing that can help figure out what is going on so here is another picture to help figure it out. Good luck! And no McKenna didn't take the picture, I am just having fun with my picture manager.

Here it is. I couldn't wait, sorry cute picture, dumb game. I'll stick to just posting about the things we do.

Monkey's, Snakes and Binki's?

Man by some of these pictures you'd think that my girls never wear pants. Sorry! I do like them to wear pants! Lily Monkey, being dangerous like usual and climbing on things she knows she shouldn't.
We went to Busch Garden's and they had a Python(really really big, says McKenna) snake on display that you could go touch (I don't think you could call it petting). McKenna didn't want to touch it at all, but Lily touched it once then was ready to move on.

What?
Silly Lily, she decided that she wanted two binki's in her mouth!

Jay and Sage

This is my brother Jay and their baby Sage. I can't believe how big she is, I can't wait to come see her. Thanks mom for the picture!

Park Fun

The weather here has been perfect fall weather so we went to the park with some friends. McKenna loved just running around and going down the slide.

Here is a hole that comes out the bottom of a big wooden ship that the slide is on. They all thought it was fun to look out the hole. Of course McKenna was hogging it but you can see Jack's eyes and that Lily is trying to pull her way into the hole.

Mess Monster take 2

So the Mess Monster has struck again. I thought it was going to be a normal day of laundry, but to my surprise when the whites came out of the dryer they all had nice blueish purple splotches on them. I almost cried it was a mess. Then my cute girl McKenna came over and said don't cry mom it's okay. I'm sorry. But that's just it. We don't know who did it or what it really was. I am guessing a crayon got dropped in the laundry and melted in the dryer and on all the clothes. I couldn't find any sign of a marker or pen anywhere. That pesky monster! I thought we were back to Tye-dyed clothes.

Cooking with Mom

I love that McKenna is at the age where she really wants to help me out, especially with cooking. So I decided that I would make her lunch fun the other day and we made a Grill Cheese Car. Pretty dorky I know, but she liked it. And I know wheels are round not square but she really wanted to eat it and I didn't have time to make them round.
Now it was time to make cookies. Not for any special reason besides that we wanted to eat them. McKenna loves dumping the ingredients into the bowl and using a spoon to mix stuff in, she won't use the hand mixer because it, "Too Loud" as she tells me every time I grab it.

Oh and it's not a rule that we cook with no pants on it just happens that after using the big girl potty she came out with no pants. Crazy girl! I know the last time they had their aprons on Lily didn't have pants on either.
