Little Stinker!

I went to take the garbage out really quick and came back to this. LL had found MJ little potty and decided that it makes a great seat. She was caught red handed the little stinker.

Finger painting

Finger painting is a new found love for MJ. She doesn't like getting her hands dirty but she really enjoyed this.

Virginia Aquarium and Virginia Beach

We decided on our holiday (Martin Luther King day) that we would drive to Virginia Beach to the aquarium and beach. It turned out to be a fun trip and nice to get out and about on a day that we didn't have school or anything else.
MJ really wanted to touch the sting rays but they kept teasing us and would come then swim by really fast.

Here is one coming to the top, but just too far away for us to touch.

Now turtles will be known as killer turtles to us. So while we were at the turtle exhibit. A turtle ate a fish that was swimming in the same tank. Wow the circle of life, MJ said, "what is he doing dad?" and of course no sugar coating it from MD he said, "the turtle is eating the fish and now it's dead".

Turtle catching the fish.

I kept telling MD that I don't think people would be smiling if they were inside a sharks mouth.

The girls running a submarine in the shark tank.

MJ thought it was pretty cool that she could stand in a fish tank. LL was too short to see up in there like MJ.

They had a neat area that was made extra large so you could see what it would be like to be an insect. The girls like the plastic snake.

Crazy Driver

So this is how I see future driving with LL. She is a ball of fire and I don't look forward to giving her control of a vehicle. Well, then I guess it's a good thing she's just one.

Winter Wonderland

Okay so it's not really a winter wonderland. But for us it's always fun when it snows and sticks. Last year it snowed one time that I remember, and it was on the day of our Easter egg hunt. The kids loved it. Enjoy the pictures...

Being 1

LL is almost 1 1/2. Almost time for Nursery during church. Yes! But I still can't believe how fast she has grown up. Cute as a button and almost more independent then her sister. Her new favorite word is Dora. When she doesn't know the word for something she just yells out, "Dora". Pictures and video to come. Here's to being 1.When snuggling with Mom is still good and being scared, no petrified of Santa is cute.
Discovering that there are people smaller then you that think you are pretty funny, well most of the time.
When putting crayons in your toes is still cute.
Being able to play in small cupboards.
And yes eating applesauce with your hands and not getting in trouble.
I mean who could get upset at this cute girl.

Being 3

I can't believe that MJ is 3. Time just flys by. She is a Sunbeam in Primary at Church. Which means no snacks and having to actually sit and listen to a spiritual lesson on Sunday's at church. But the joys of a 3 year old as many of you probably know is that they start to get really independent. She insists on dressing herself, and her favorite phrase is "I do it all by myself".
So during Christmas break while back in Idaho she actually told her aunt, "You're not my mommy, and I don't have to listen to you!" Now where do kids learn this stuff. We are still working on that, but we love her and all her independence.

Needed Girl Time

So here are some fun pictures of us having some fun girl time. Obviously the pictures of the three of us together were taken by MD, but it was still fun girl time.LL in dress up.

Family time right before bed.
Family walk down in CW.

The Greatest Gift Ever!

I just wanted to Thank my grandma for sending these wonderful cookies for us. I love that you sent so many. But I'm not loving the 5 extra pounds we just put on because we couldn't stop eating them. Oh and for everyone else don't ask me how to make them but I can tell you how to eat them... Fast!

Pink or Blue Eyes

So MJ was reading a book that has a mirror in it when MD asked her what color her eyes were. MJ says, "pink daddy". MD said no silly they are blue to which MJ replies, "so I don't have pink eye". Then she ran to me and said mommy I feel better I don't have pink eyes anymore. I get to go to primary.

Kids are so cute and keep us on our toes! I am glad that her pink eye is almost gone.

A great reminder!

I was reading a friends blog and she had this on her blog. I can't tell you enough how we forget these things in our lives. Trials are not just mine, other people go through them too.

Playing in the Snow

So while we were in Boise over New Year's it snowed a lot and the girls got to play in the snow, well at least while MD shoveled his Grandma's drive way. They had fun.

Seven things about me....

1. I played the saxophone in the PHS pep band.

2. I played Volleyball, Basketball and Softball in HS... and MD always says how did you play in all the sports and play in the pep band, it was hard running up and down the court dribbling with my saxophone on my back, but it made me a stronger player.

3. I grew up in a town of 2,400 people in the county and graduated with 30 people. Oh wait I think there were actually 29 I'm not sure if everyone graduated.

4. I love photography, okay so that's not surprising but it's good, right?!

5. I learned how to drive a wheat truck stick shift while sitting on a tool box because I wasn't tall enough to see out the window.

6. I raised pigs and showed them in 4-H and the FFA. I named them Bacon or Babe.

7. And last but not least I joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints almost 5 1/2 years ago. Baptised on Easter morning.

I am going to tag... actually I think I just tagged people not to long ago so you are all off the hook but not for the next one. Thank you Sarah this was fun.

Christmas!

I know I took pictures of all the kids getting their gifts, but I think that is the fun part of Christmas, well beside the obvious part (our Savior's birth), they are always so cute and their faces just light up when they get something new. This became a morning ritual for the girls. They loved all of Grandma's musical snow globes.
