Random Pictures

We have been having a ton of fun with Matt being home these past couple of weeks. We tend to go to the pool or beach at least 3 times a week and are frequently taking walks to the park. We both thought we'd be going crazy but now that Matt only has 2 weeks left before work starts we are starting to get sad about him not being here all the time. The girls have loved spending more time with him and I know he has loved it too. Here are a few fun things we did the other day while Matt was showing our friends the Tolley's around Boston. Fun stamps/finger painting (thanks Layton's)

The Host

So I just finished this book by Stephanie Meyer. I wasn't sure if I could get into it at first, but after reading the first couple chapters I really wanted to know more and more. So finally by the end, like with most good books, I couldn't put it down and truly wanted another book to be sitting on the table waiting for me. So in other words I have a feeling that she will be putting out a sequel to this book (or I hope so). If you like the Twilight Series of book you will like this one too.

Girls Camp

I got to spend one day up at Girls Camp playing photographer. I had a lot of fun getting to know some of the ladies and girls there. They are still there and I wish those counselors good luck. But I enjoyed going and seeing how it is done, I never went to girls camp so it was fun living through them for a day. But I like my bed too much!

Combines

Thank you so much Grandpa Ernie for sending the girls some fun combines to play with and no Dad didn't have to call in for a service call to assemble them. Even though it was a close call! I guess we will have some boy toys when our baby gets old enough to play with these.

Camping

We took a fun camping trip with our ward to Sharon, Vermont. For some of you that don't know, Sharon is the birthplace of Joseph Smith. We camped at the campground called "Camp Joseph." Upon arriving, we went straight to the monument where the Smith family house was located. What a beautiful place it was. MJ and MD walking to Monument
It was built in honor of the Prophet that was killed. The monument was 38 1/2 feet tall, one foot for every year of his life. Oh, and a small fact for you, it is the largest single smooth piece of granite.
The girls and I sitting on what use to be the front step of the Smith family house. Oh, and we found out that the border of Sharon and Royalton, VT runs right through where their house was. So that is why some things say he was born in Sharon and some say Royalton. MJ roasting marshmallowsWe had a lot of fun playing horseshoes too. Matt and I both got a ringer while playing.
All the girls from the camp out having fun

The next day all the kids had fun getting really dirty, especially LL.

Warm Water!

We finally had a day that wasn't raining and the beach was great, the water felt great. The girls had fun, LL loved the muddie sand and MJ loved going out in the water with dad. LL didn't enjoy this part of it, he only made it a few steps out before she started to scream.
MJ on the other hand wanted to keep going out.

She's two!

We had a fun birthday party for LL. Some of her little friends came over to celebrate with us and had fun getting into princess dress ups and dancing. Even the boys joined into the princess fun. pink and purple cake, just like she asked
kids in dress ups
birthday girl hug from big sister MJ, oh and notice the princess shoes (thanks grandma Pam)

Trip to Washington part 5

I promise that this will be the last one about our trip but I could go without sharing the girls favorite parts. They had a couple of firsts on the trip. Riding horses and riding on a combine with Grandpa Ernie. Oh and finally click here if you aren't too tired of pictures to see more pictures. MJ and my Aunt Jenni on the horse
LL's turn to ride
and it isn't a trip to the country if you don't get nice and dirty in a big pile of dirt
here's the combine the girls got to ride on with Grandpa Ernie (just in case some of you didn't know what it was)
And we had to get a picture of the kids in the wheat

Trip to Washington part 4

Here are a few fun things we did while out west, enjoy the pictures and if you aren't sick enough of our trip there are still some more to post. Grandma Pam and the grand kids (that would hold hands, Tyson was too big, well he thought so anyways)
All the grand kids so far, plus two on the way (and no we aren't having twins my brother and sister-in-law are expecting number two)
It wouldn't have been an official trip with out playing with some of grandpa Ernie's tools while were there

feeding the chickens at Aunt Marcia's house (this is where the power wheel incident happened)

helping great grandma Johnson in her wonderful garden
I love garden carrots among many other things

Trip to Washington part 3

My parents house is also right across the street from the park and so we also spent plenty of time at the park during the days that were cool enough to play. This is the dare devil Trevin. He is too short to reach the monkey bars so he jumps out to get them then swings across on them. He can make it three rings then has to drop.
And here is MJ throwing rocks on him to distract him (I think).
I took the girls to a small park that I use to play at on the other side of town from where my parents live (my hometown is really small 1,200 people in the town)
I didn't realize that going to this park meant going down a rusty memory lane. When we got out at the park I realized that all the toys there were the same toys I grew up playing on. Okay so 20 some odd years you think they would have fallen apart but they still worked just fine.
back to the park across the street from my parents
The best part about this picture is that LL is screaming, she loved the big slide but hated going slow on the merry-go-round
it's slide time!

Trip to Washington part 2

We were very blessed to have excellent weather while we were in Washington state and so that meant that we were playing in the pool at least once a day. The girls hanging out after some pool time.
Baby Sage taking a dip, after fighting mom and dad on putting on a swimsuit. She enjoyed the nude swimming better.
MJ and my cousin Brandy's son JP
JP, Karly and the girls playing in the fun pool
We even wen to the kiddie pool at the city pool for a dip
Playing in my parents pool some more
Pool party with some cousins at my aunt Julie's house.
and yes Brady was the only boy there, he was done swimming with the girls after just a couple mins.
