It Was Too Cold!

You know it's too cold to go to the park when...
1. Your kids are playing with ice that was frozen on the slide 2. the wind hurts your face and after 5 minutes of playing everyone wants to go home
and 3. when you pull the strings on your sweatshirt like you were in Jr. High to cover your face from the wind and you put your girls in the single stroller like this to make it home fast.

Oh the lessons we learn!

Thanksgiving Dinner

After a last minute decision to cancel our New York/ Michigan Thanksgiving trip this is what we ended up doing. A nice, quiet, peaceful dinner at home. Just us! It was fun and everything turned out great.

Keeping Busy!

Here is a Christmas present in the works, nope sorry I'm not telling who it's for either. They will have to wait and find out, but I will post a picture when it's all done too.

This one was a fun quilt kit my mom got for me last Christmas that finally made it to my list of quilts to make. I still haven't finished it, but someday it will be done.

FHE

Or otherwise known as Family Home Evening. It was Matt's lesson. We learned of Grandpa John that passed away in 2000. We realized that we talk about him but not enough. LL really didn't know who we were talking about and all MJ knew was that he passed away. It was fun showing them pictures and telling stories. I never met him but I feel like I know him through Matt and his family. One of Matt's favorite stories is of how his dad use to put them on top of the fridge and walk away. Weird to someone else but this was something he loved. So here is MJ getting the Grandpa John experience.

Dorothy?

So I let the girls watch the Wizard of Oz. I thought two things would happen, 1. they would think this old movie is dumb and 2. that it was scary. But I was wrong they loved it, a little scary but they ended up loving it. The next day we went to Joann Fabrics for some material and of course their Halloween stuff is like 90% off so we found some red Wizard of Oz slippers there. Now they each have their ruby slippers. But MJ won't click her heals together because she says she's already home.

More Rockport, MA

We love going to Rockport, it's a fun little town. We actually went to buy a painting that I have been wanting to get for our house. I will have to put a picture of it later, but we of course had to walk around town and enjoy the wonderful weather. Oh and to see more picture click here.

They loved that everyone still had pumpkins sitting outside of their stores.

Just the girls!

I thought I would put a post on about just us girls. Okay so all of our posts are about the girls, but soon it will be two girls and a boy so it will be different. I love having time with my girls, we play dress up, princesses (I'm always the queen), and many more girly things. I always thought we would have boys and now that we have two girls I can't imagine life with out girls in our home. Oh and just a side note we didn't all fit down the slide very well in this picture. But at least they still want mom to play with them, I hear that the teenage years aren't as fun.

Museums and the Letter A

I decided since we get in free it was time to take the girls to the Peabody Essex Museum and see what all the talk is about. We all had fun and we learned a lot about different cultures and how hard it is for two little girls not to touch museum stuff.

There were two rooms of hands on learning that the girls just loved, well I guess I loved them too. I had fun teaching the girls about a lot of different things.
LL's favorite part. She loved playing with the musical instruments
a concert for mom
We even got to make our own birds

Now for the letter A. Since MJ has been learning letters at preschool, I decided to do a few things at home to help her learn. So we made Noah's Ark with all the animals. They had a blast using the glue sticks to put all the animals in Noah's Ark.

Halloween in Salem

Snow White fell asleep before we could even get out the door to go Trick or Treating. We later found out that she was getting sick (hand, foot, mouth actually). But here are a few of the costumes we saw on our Salem, MA outing on Halloween night. Oh and just so you get an idea of how big Halloween is here, they predicted 100,000 visitors coming for Halloween. It was packed to say the least.
This little Ewok was great
these are a bunch of super hero's, you can't see it but Batman is an over weight man smoking a cigarette, not my idea of super hero's but it works.

This guy was pretty funny, he would follow people and then stop for pictures. People really got into their costumes characters
And obviously this was the one that the girls liked the most. Oh and on a side note, I think the best one's were the hardest to take pictures of because I was laughing to hard to stop and take a picture. A little old lady dressed like Elvis was my favorite. She was about 4' 10" or so.

Cute Girls!

Since we couldn't jump in our own leaves this year we had to settle for some at the park. The girls had fun and the pictures turned out really cute. Enjoy!

MJ's idea of smiling at the camera, it looks like a senior picture shot
That's more like it
