First Boston Tour

So we met my friend Keli in downtown Boston after a nice, well better then Philly anyways, subway ride from Cambridge. The girls love the subway because McKenna thinks it's a train and says choo choo everytime we get on one.

We walked the freedom trail and saw the Old State House (Where they first read the Declaration of Independence to the citizens of Massachusetts from the balcony right there in the front. It was a beautiful building among the busy Boston streets.), the North Church, Paul Revere's wall (I think that is the name of it), among other things.


Since it was Memorial Day there were a lot of street performers down there and I got a couple pictures too. One group were two brothers and a sister that did acrobatic things. And the other is of magic Dave(well that is what he called himself), we didn't think he was that good. It was really cheesy not too funny.

And we even found a person to make a balloon butterfly for McKenna.

Mom's Apron

Here is my mom (Pam) in her apron that I made for Mother's Day. She wanted to send it so McKenna and Lily could see that Grandma likes to wear her apron too. Thanks Mom!

Cambridge Commons

So basically since we have been here in Boston/Cambridge we have almost hit every park in our area. Yesterday the girls and I went to 3 of them. We walked down to Cambridge commons with Matt after work and saw some monuments that were pretty neat. I laugh because Lily loves going to the park just as much as McKenna even though she can't walk. She just loves to eat the sand. So we started to give her the binki when she is playing in the sand boxes. We'll see how long that lasts. Tomorrow will be my first run here (well if I can drag my bum out of bed for it) I am looking forward to it.

On a sad note my Great Grandma Delora Kimble passed away. I wanted to just say how much I loved her and wish that I could be there for the funeral.

Sage Brooklyn Kimble

Sage Brooklyn. My brother Jay and his wife Briana are the proud parents of this beautiful baby girl. She was born on March 27th. I can't wait to come meet her and hold her. I couldn't resisted posting some pictures of their little family! They are so cute!

Stake Conference

So today was our first Sunday in our new ward for the summer here in Cambridge, MA (also Stake Conference). It was a great surprise when we were sitting in the chapel and Mitt Romney the presidential candidate walks in and sits down in front of us. Matt and I agreed that as busy as he is that it was very impressive to see him there worshiping as a regular LDS member.

Mother's Day

Mother's Day was so much fun. I was spoiled rotten and we sent Mother's Day aprons to my mom Pam and Matt's mom Jeanne. I made matching aprons for the girls to wear. They are so cute.

Boston!

Wow we are finally here. Boston has officially welcomed us here. We drove in and right away had to pay a toll (no surprise) then following the directions we had, right away we were lost. Lucky for us my friend Keli lives here and was home. A quick 30 minute call to her with turn by turn directions and we were finally at our new home for the summer (Cambridge, MA). To say the least our first trip out was to buy a map, and now we can get around pretty well.

We had a fun trip up from our beloved Williamsburg, VA. We drove to Aberdeen, MD where Matt served part of his mission while waiting for his visa. He commented on how weird it was to see it again. It's been 7 years but he still remembered his favorite pizza place. We drove to Philly after a fun (sleepless night) stay at a Perryville, MD hotel. My friend Terra and her family live there so we drove to there house to stay the night. After getting there we found out that they had to attend a funeral and couldn't show us around so Matt and I packed up the girls and off we went to discover the subways and streets of Philly. It wasn't too bad after the subway attendy yelled at us for not using the handi cap door for our stroller right. But we finally made it down to see the Liberty bell among other sites in Philly. Right as we got back to the Drakes home we were rained on so we stayed in the rest of the night.

The next morning we were up and running to get to Boston and not sleep in the same room as our girls (we love them but between McKenna snoring and Lily being such a light sleeper it just didn't work). So there is our story of getting to Boston.
